WhereSciences GeoSpatial Labs stands up against hunger with The Akshaya Patra Foundation

WhereSciences GeoSpatial Labs Energy Blogs 01

India has been reeling under the Covid-19 Pandemic, even more so in the last few months during the 2nd wave, when we witnessed daily cases rising to the levels of ~400,000. The severity of the 2nd wave has reduced significantly now with daily cases coming down to ~40,000, however, not before making a catastrophic impact on a large number of families, especially those belonging to the vulnerable sections of society. As with any other human tragedy, children are the ones worst affected during this pandemic as they witnessed the pandemic claiming not only livelihoods but also the lives of their near ones.

As the threat of a 3rd wave looms large, we at WhereSciences GeoSpatial Labs are also deeply concerned and consider that it is our social responsibility to attend to at least some of those affected by the pandemic. We understand that food is a basic essential need for a human being, especially for children who need proper nutrition to grow. And, therefore, we have decided to attend to this crucial need.

We have launched a fundraising program called ‘Stand up against Hunger” as our response. We have partnered with The Akshaya Patra Foundation to support our cause and be on the ground for those who seek assistance. The Akshaya Patra Foundation is an NGO in India that runs the largest mid-day meal program for underprivileged children in the world. You can find details of the program here.
